LARGE FRIDAY MOSQUE
The excavated remains of Al Jazeera Al Hamra's largest religious building are situated near the former lagoon at the western end of the town. According to a description by the British in the 1820, it once was the only mosque in the region.
Extensive archeological excavations reveals the remains of multiple successive mosques built over a period of 300 years. Today remnants of its rectangular pillars are visible, which originally belonged to several of these mosques.
