Overview
The Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi Foundation for Policy Research (AQF), in collaboration with the Ras Al Khaimah Department of Antiquities and Museums (RAK DAM), is excited to introduce the Al Jazeera Al Hamra Heritage Village (AJAH) Volunteer Tour Guide Program.
Rationale
In Ras Al Khaimah, opportunities for community members to engage in and share cultural or historical knowledge are limited. This is true for interactions among local residents as well as with domestic and foreign tourists.
As Al Jazeera Al Hamra Heritage Village (AJAH) continues to gain recognition and make headlines, there is a growing need to establish a sustainable initiative to support the Emirate’s flourishing cultural tourism sector.
The AJAH Tour Guide Program addresses this need by training and educating volunteer tour guides to become effective tour guides. This initiative not only promotes tourism in Al Jazeera Al Hamra Heritage Village but also provides a valuable opportunity for community engagement in educational activities. By participating in this program, community members can come together to celebrate and share the rich cultural heritage of Ras Al Khaimah.
